New MP visits St Felix
New Haverhill MP Nick Timothy visited St Felix today to say hello and meet the School Council.
After careful preparation earlier in the week, the school council were delighted to meet Nick and had the opportunity to ask him their questions.
- Why do we not have a train station in Haverhill? (Annabelle)
- We have brightened up for CAFOD. How do you brighten people’s lives as an MP? (Ava)
- We shouldn’t need food banks in England. How will you reduce the need for food banks in Haverhill? (Juana
- There are lots of places to play in Haverhill but the shops are disappointing. How will you improve the shops in town? (Daria)
- We think sharing is a good idea as the world’s resources belong to everyone. Where do you stand on migration? (Daniel)
- In the parks, some play equipment is frequently broken. How would you address this? (Noah)
- How will you prevent knife crime in Haverhill? (Florence)
- How can we encourage people to use bins outside of fast food restaurants? (Milana)
- How will you reduce inequality in Haverhill? (Antoni)
He was very open to answering these and showed due respect to the thought they had put into preparing them.
The children enjoyed the visit and would happily welcome him to St Felix again.
